Carreño Screen

The Carreño Screen is a sarcastic tribute to those legendary etiquette precepts. Based on the Manual de Urbanidad (Etiquette Manual) written by M. Carreño, this screen works as a division between individual spaces and those spaces brimming with rules and expectations. On one side, we are shown a lot of rules we should be following, thus saturating the spectator’s field of vision, while they wait for the person that is on the other side. That side, where one can get undressed, is completely empty, except for an even surface where some images of undergarments and socks are shown.
