Celosía Paramétrica

Parametric Lattice

For this project, BAAQ Architecture Studio and Joaquin Castillo invited Ariel Rojo to collaborate on the intervention of a house located in Lomas de Cocoyoc, where a 40 sq. meter façade was needed. It was necessary to avoid direct sunlight to go directly into the house, so, besides the orientation analysis according to solar positions, we also worked with parametric apps, such as Grasshopper, in order to study the weather and amount of light throughout the day, as well as the direction and the ideal way to send light onto the house. The façade consists on two separate modules, one focused towards sunrise and sunset points and another towards the water body nearby, in order to make use of its reflection.
