Losing my America

Losing my America

This project has its origins on the efforts that are done to preserve and spread the American artisanal legacy. The Chilean GT2P Studio, along with the Colectivo Amor de Madre art group, developed this project in order to connect with the design industry as well as to encourage communication between both the crafts and design trades, through the experimentation with new technologies and local, traditional methods. Iconic pieces were intervened for this exhibition, exploring the resistance local craftsmen experience while facing the digital era, transforming each piece into a practical research on the collaborative future between design and crafts. Losing my America presents a collaboration between Chilean, Brazilian and Mexican craftsmen and designers.
