It is an international festival held in Mexico City, devoted to celebrating every aspect of design as well as to making it accessible for society; it consists on a multiplicity and variety of events that take place for a week with their epicenter located at Mexico City’s Centro Historico (Historic Downtown). The AMD (Abierto Mexicano de Diseño-Mexican Design Open) allows designers, businesses, organizations, embassies and universities to coordinate and present on a joint effort the most recent production from different creative disciplines, with a collaborative and festive atmosphere; during its first edition, carried out from October 23rd to October 27th, 2013, the theme consisted on professions, with the program including cultural as well as commercial exhibitions, installations, performances, gatherings, tours for pedestrians as well as for bikers, visits and outdoor events. Every person or group that has an interest on design is invited to join as a participant and promoter, the general public is invited as well, to join us during the annual design celebration in Mexico. The Mexican Design Open and its thirty consultants created a series of events; however, the wide range of these would not have been possible without everyone’s participation. The call was open to the general public in order to join efforts.
