In a collaboration with Jorge Madahuar, we carried out a concept design for the furniture that would be used at the offices of the Presidency of the Mexican Republic, located at Los Pinos. The aforementioned concept is based on shapes that can be found on pre-Hispanic art, referring to the idea of growth. We sought to obtain a modern variation of the equipal or icapalli chair, a Nahuatl indigenous tongue word that means “seat for gods” or “seat for kings”. The planned materials are Corian and stainless steel.
