Educal A+B=D Workshop
A+B=D is a collaboration between Ariel Rojo and students from different design schools, established in order to develop functional products that are able to be taken into both national and international markets from next year on. In this occasion, Ariel Rojo and Jessica Mendoza worked along with Industrial Design students from the National Autonomous University of Mexico as well as students from the EDINBA (Escuela de Diseño del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes—Mexican Institute for the Fine Arts School of Design). This project sought the creation of a series of pieces that would encourage reading habits, using the innovation proposal Ariel Rojo designed. The methodology for this workshop comes from a very simple formula: A+B=D, where A can consist on a cultural element, a context reference or a story, while B is just an object, such as a chair, a ring, a cup, a lamp or any other object.
