Villeroy & Boch
The studio was invited by the German Villeroy & Boch company, through their Mexican office, to create two bathroom suites that would consist of a toilet and a sink, as well as two additional independent sinks. This line was inspired by our pre-Hispanic cultures and developed out of the respect we feel for them. In this collection we can find a formal reinterpretation of elements coming from civilizations such as the Toltec, Aztec, Mayan and Olmec. Vessels, conceived as the containers for water and life, are used on cleansing rites; these are key elements on Ariel Rojo’s proposal. These pieces connect pre-Hispanic cultures with contemporary practices we carry out at home. These products are sold in Mexico, USA and Europe.
